The signs of the Zodiac by Ithaca freely reproduce the metal ones which decorate the clock –face of the Torre dell’Orologio in Piazza San Marco, Venice. The tower, extremely important both for Venetian architecture and town - planning, was probably projected by Mauro Codussi and unveiled in 1499.
