ARES
Ares was the god of
war and of meaningless destruction.
In Ilias, V, 31 –34, with these appropriate words Athena addresses
him:
.... blue-eyed Athena spoke words to violent Ares, taking his hand:
“Ares, deadly Ares, you ferocious, blood-thirsty destroyer of
walls…
